CityPlace Neighbourhood in Toronto’s downtown and its unique features

CityPlace is a Neighborhood in downtown Toronto, located in the former Railway Lands. This neighborhood is bordered by Rogers Centre to the east, Front Street to the north, Bathurst Street to the west, and Lake Shore Boulevard to the south. This downtown neighborhood is one of the newest neighborhoods in Toronto. Its development began in the early 2000s and it is one of those residential neighborhoods that are built from scratch. It is very close to Toronto’s financial district and you can reach there within 10-20 minutes walking. This neighborhood also hosts one of the most famous parks in Toronto, which is Canoe Landing Park, designed by famed Canadian artist Douglas Coupland.

The majority of its residents are young singles and couples who work downtown. This neighborhood is not suitable for families with kids, because large condos with 2 or 3 bedrooms are rare here. CityPlace Neighborhood Homes and Architecture

CityPlace Neighborhood is a land of glass towers. These glass towers have fantastic views and fancy amenities. There are many projects in the works, but there are also other construction projects that are built out.

This neighborhood includes a mix of high-rise and mid-rise condominium towers. Most of these units are less than 1000 square feet and their prices are in the range of $500-$600 per square foot. Prices are changing from building to building and unit to unit depending on the views. It is somehow 6% more expensive than the average price in Toronto.

Parade towers are the signature buildings in CityPlace Neighborhood which are connected by a two-story SkyBridge on the 28th and 29th floors. The upper floor of this bridge includes two luxury residential suites, and the lower floor is an amenity space called SkyLounge. As you might guess these high-tech masterpieces of engineering and architecture are very luxurious and their prices also do not come cheap. But as a Toronto Based real estate agent, we can make you sure that these prices are justified and reasonable.

CityPlace Neighborhood Distinctive Features

There are many unique features in this new neighborhood at the heart of Toronto. First of all, it is a new neighborhood that is developed from scratch in the early 2000s. So it is already a brand new neighborhood that is developed by famous and well-known construction companies. This makes it a great destination for those who love to live in modern glass towers with amazing urban and waterfront views. As a Toronto based real estate agent, I’ve seen many young professionals loving this neighborhood for its new and unique features.

After these residential towers, one should point out to the Canoe Landing Park. This park’s development was done in 2009. It was designed by the well-known Canadian artist and writer, Douglas Coupland. There are many art and sculpture installations in this park that make it an artistic place for visitors. It also contains many zones at which residents enjoy the mix of art objects and natural landscapes. This park connects this neighborhood to the Gardiner Expressway, after which residents have access to the Waterfront.

And the last unique feature you can see in the CityPlace Neighborhood, especially as a Toronto Based real estate agent, is that there are not much above 30 people living there. These young professional residents are junior professionals and can afford to live in this neighborhood. That’s why there are few units larger than 2 bedrooms in this neighborhood because the majority of residents are professional young singles and couples. They enjoy their downtown neighborhood in which they have access to all their needs.
